Challenge
The challenge was to create an identity that communicated heritage and modernity without becoming merely decorative. The client needed a visual system that could be applied from the facade of a physical location to digital platforms, always maintaining a sense of craftsmanship and exclusivity.
02
Approach
The visual proposal is rooted in two pillars of Japanese culture: Hanko (personal identity seals) and Ukiyo-e woodblock prints. The central logomark is a mythical synthesis of a mermaid, framed by a labyrinthine pattern inspired by Sayagata. This pattern is not just aesthetic; it represents harmony and eternity, anchoring the brand's mythology with ancient tradition.
For the color palette, a deep red (#8e0f08) was selected to evoke traditional seal ink, contrasted with a cream tone (#f2eae2) that provides warmth and an organic texture. The typography utilizes fine, elegant lines to allow the Hanko symbol to remain the absolute protagonist.
